Passing under the arch with the ovoid symbol, the vista landscape shimmers, shifting into more deciduous surroundings on a moderate slope. Peering from the edge of a treeline, there stands an abandoned office building and vacant parking lot, weeds pushing up through the pavement. Across the lazy main street, an old house – possibly unoccupied – sits as the last main home on the way. A proud rooster is positioned outside the door, looking down 1st Street toward town.
